SUNDAY MBA TOPS AFRICAN PLAYER OF THE YEAR NOMINEES
The Warri Wolves midfielder is the only Nigerian to be shortlisted by the Confederation of Africa Football for the best Africa-based player award.
Super Eagles midfielder Sunday Mba has made the list for the Confederation of African Football African Player of the Year for players based in Africa.
The former Warri Wolves player who put up a sterling performance for Nigeria at the finals of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa last February is the only Super Eagles player to be considered by CAF.
Orlando Pirates, Al Ahly and TP Mazembe account for three players on the list that also includes players from Coton Sport, Stade Malien and CS Sfaxien.
The winners will be announced at the Glo-CAF Awards Gala billed for Thursday, January 9, 2014 in Lagos, Nigeria.
