Unlike in Naija where everything goes,Hong Kong businessman and English football club Birmingham City owner Carson Yeung has been sentenced to six years in jail on Friday for money laundering in a high-profile case that law enforcement officials hailed as an important victory to combat money laundering in the glbal financial hub.
Yeung, 54,a self-made millionaire and owner of British football club Birmingham City, was found guilty by a Hong Kong court on five counts of money-laundering some HK$721 million over several years. Sources say Yeung who had claimed he made his money from his hair dressing salon is invloved in gambling and with criminal gangs, casinos from where he ammased his wealth.
